On display now through mid-January, come check out posters made by Vilas County K-12 students for the annual National Association of Conservation Districts Poster Contest. You’ll also have a chance to vote for your favorite entry in our People’s Choice Award.
The annual National Association of Conservation Districts Poster Contest provides students from kindergarten through 12th grade a chance to have their art displayed nationally. Winning posters reflect the annual NACD Stewardship theme and highlight the work of conservation districts and their associations in protecting and enhancing natural resources. The contest starts locally, advances to state levels, then national. National winners receive recognition at NACD’s annual meeting. This year’s theme is “Soil: Where it All Begins.”
Students compete at county and area competitions with the winning posters moving on to compete at the State Competition in March at the WI Land+Water’s Annual Conference. The first-place posters from the state competition will represent Wisconsin at the National Association of Conservation Districts’ annual meeting.
