2024 Conservation Awareness Poster Contest

The annual National Association of Conservation Districts Poster Contest provides students from kindergarten through 12th grade a chance to have their art displayed nationally. Winning posters reflect the annual NACD Stewardship theme and highlight the work of conservation districts and their associations in protecting and enhancing natural resources. The contest starts locally, advances to state levels, then national. National winners receive recognition at NACD’s annual meeting.  The 2024 NACD Poster Contest theme is “May the Forest Be With You Always.”

The Conservation Poster Contest is open to kindergarten through 12th-grade students and posters are evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Conservation message
  • Visual effectiveness
  • Originality
  • Universal appeal
  • Individual artwork

Past Poster Contest themes have included:

  • Healthy Soils are Full of Life
  • Dig Deeper Mysteries in the Soil
  • Soil to Spoon
  • Conservation Habits=Healthy Habitats
  • Water Is Life

Students compete at county and area competitions with the winning posters moving on to compete at the State Competition in March at the WI Land+Water’s Annual Conference. The first-place posters from the state competition will represent Wisconsin at the National Association of Conservation Districts’ annual meeting.
